PC PERFORMANCE TUNING
PC Response Time
When you first get your brand new PC,
it starts off by being very frisky. Are you hopeful that somehow, the computer will
just automatically keep on working as efficiently as the day you bought it?
Sorry to tell you, but this is very, very wrong! After a few years, or depending
upon usage, a few months, response times will
ALWAYS degrade. And the slower it gets, the more likely it is for something
to go wrong.
Before you throw your PC on the rubbish heap in frustration, here are a few notes
that I have written to keep your PC in Tune.
Performance Tuning involves include cleaning out old temporary files and cookies,
defragmenting the hard drive, removing unwanted programs that make start-up time
slow, and stopping unnecessary services that don't need to run. Your computer will
boot up faster, open programs and files faster, and have more hard drive space if
it's properly tuned.
This is not a comprehensive guide, but these tips can make a noticeable difference
to the performance of your PC.
